Joan Morgan passed away on January 23, 2025. Joan was an artist at heart and was fortunate enough to make that her life's work. Throughout her career, she painted watercolors that captured scenes from her other passion, her garden. Most of her paintings were of the geraniums, daisies, and pansies she would plant every year. Later in life, she started painting the birds that frequented her home in Cedar Key, Florida and her cabin in Murphy, North Carolina.

If you were a friend or patron and would like to honor her memory, we would appreciate a book donation to the Cedar Key Library. Joan frequently borrowed books there, and many of the books in their collection were lost during Hurricane Helene.
